Watching various book coaching models and their coaches—seeing what's worked and what hasn't—we developed a system with the overall concepts, thoughts, and ideas in mind:
Learn more about Nicole.
There are plenty of book coaching systems out there that promise to make you a best-selling author (even if it is just a few books sold in a slow genre on Amazon by finagling metadata), say they will give you the keys to help you sell books, promise to line you up with non-leverageable media affiliations, or give you the idea that there are just a few magical simple steps to creating a book in short periods of time. I've written multiple books and trust me, there are no three or four simple steps and becoming a best-seller is NOT a money-maker (unless of course you want to become a full-time author and strike the lottery with a NYT Best-Seller).
Anyone with the ability to create a PDF file can send a file off to a printer and make a book. But, where the difference comes into play with all these systems is what is promised and what actually happens: Does your book ever get published? Is the content useful and purposeful and aligned with your goals and objectives? Does your coach help you get aligned with your business goals or just make false promises for fortune and fame? Writing and producing a book takes time and money and there isn't really a way to save on the cost to produce a professional end product—you do get what you pay for in this industry—and many coaches know that and they know how to leverage your vulnerability.
Just about every ad you see for book coaching is some version of a bad 3am cable channel infomercial with bright colors, bells, whistles, and a screaming salesperson. Some coaches have written a book (whether relevant to the book writing process or not) and some haven't and some have a real love for books and writing and others prefer to use book coaching as an opportunity to stand on stage or rave about how they can make you an instant overnight success and fill your head with false promises. Honestly, this all really upsets me! It's time for truth!
I prefer a quieter and more grounded approach to help get your book published and stand apart from your competition in your marketplace. However you choose to use your book is ultimately up to you, but writing one will surely be the best decision you've ever made if it's done right and it will give you new opportunities and exposure to environments and people you might not have otherwise been exposed to without it.
Think of your book like you would a business plan. It is like a small business in and of itself. If you are good at running your business you will make a profit and find ways to use it to leverage new relationships. Let me show you how to move all of your 'sellable value' into a tool that helps position you as an expert in your field. Learn to write with purpose— exposing your talents, passions, and experience!
